For the first time ever, the Roots Wakeboard Wakeskate Amateur Series will visit Southwestern Ontario for the Sarnia Boarder Pass Open presented by Endless Surf on Sunday, June 24, 2012.

The top wakeboarders and wakeskaters in Ontario will hit the water to compete in the second stop of Canada’s first multi-stop cable wake series. Following an extremely successful event at The Ranch Wake Park in Newmarket, the entire Roots team is looking forward to the event.

“I’ve ridden at Sarnia Boarder Pass before, and the crew of people there is amazing to work with,” said Event Director Erika Langman. “We are really excited to be able to add Sarnia to our event calendar, and I think Boarder Pass is a proper home for the series.”

Following the event in Sarnia, the Roots Wake Series will visit Haliburton for the Sharpley Source for Sports Open presented by Mastercraft, and Huntsville for the Algonquin Outfitters Provincial Championships presented by Nautique.

The Roots is recognized by the provincial sport body as Ontario's designated provincial wakeboard and wakeskate series. This not-for-profit series is organized by a committee of long-time competitive riders hoping to provide the next generation of athletes with the opportunity to excel in sport. The grassroots series focuses on introducing new participants to wakeboarding and wakeskating in Ontario.
