Three face criminal charges in connection with fatal Lambton Shores rollover crash
Lambton County — By JD Booth on October 17, 2012 at 2:39 pm
Lambton OPP say they have laid criminal charges in connection with a single vehicle rollover crash that resulted in the death of one of the passengers, 29-year-old Lonny James Norton of Sarnia, who succumbed to his injuries in a London hospital on July 31.
Police say an investigation of the incident, which occurred on Northville Road south of Kennedy Line shortly before 9 p.m. on July 26, 2012, revealed that the person who was purportedly at the wheel of the GMC crew cab pickup was not, in fact, the driver.
Janis Lee Oost, a 28-year-old Sarnia woman who initially said she was the driver, has now been charged with public mischief and obstructing police, as has another passenger, Steven Patrick Latour, 29, also of Sarnia.
The man now believed to be the driver of the vehicle, Douglas Marcel St Jean, 29, of Sarnia, is being charged with three counts of criminal negligence causing bodily harm, public mischief and obstructing police.
All three will appear in Sarnia court on October 29, 2012 to answer to the charges.
