Three Forest men in custody for string of armed pharmacy robberies
Lambton County — By Joe Burd on February 8, 2012 at 11:19 amHuron County OPP have captured and arrested three Forest-area men on Jan. 7 who are all accused of pharmacy robbery and attempted robbery of another pharmacy.
All three men are charged with armed robbery in Huron County.
Provincial police says two suspects brandishing an edged weapon presented a note to a clerk demanding narcotics at the Pharmasave Drug store in Bayfield around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, but they left empty handed.
Following the unsuccessful attempt in Bayfield, police say two men entered a Zurich pharmacy around 2:30 p.m., once again demanded narcotics and showed an edged weapon. The men left with drugs, but police quickly found them driving on Bluewater Highway with a third suspect.
The trio, aged 23, 29 and 35 are scheduled to appear in court at Goderich today for a bail hearing.
