Tractor trailer roll over closes Highway 402 on-ramp

Lambton OPP cordoned off the on-ramp to Highway 402 eastbound at Forest Road for 7 hours last evening following a tractor trailer roll over.

Police said shortly after 5 p.m. on May 24, the driver of a transport truck was attempting to access the eastbound Highway 402 from Forest Road. The truck somehow left the roadway and rolled onto its side.

The driver, 42-year-old Kevin Crawford from Yonkers, New York, sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital in Strathroy as a precaution.

Heavy equipment was brought in to remove the overturned rig. Aside from some fluids leaking from the tractor unit, there was no environmental impact.

OPP said the investigation is continuing.
