Vehicle’s seized, drivers suspended for stunt driving in two separate incidents over weekend

Two drivers have had their driving privileges suspended for seven days and their vehicles impounded for that same period following two separate traffic stops over the weekend.

In the first incident on Mar. 31 at around 1 a.m., a Lambton OPP officer was conducting speed enforcement on Highway 40 near Petrolia Line.

A 1995 Oldsmobile was seen driving south on Highway 40 at a speed that was recorded to be well over the posted limit of 80 km per hour. Radar indicated a speed in excess of 130 km per hour.

The driver of the vehicle, who is from Sarnia, will appear in Sarnia court on the May 11 facing a charge under the Stunt Driving Legislation.

In the second incident on Mar. 31 at around at around 9:45 p.m., a provincial police officer was conducting speed enforcement on Highway 402 west of Uttoxeter Road.

A 1999 Honda was seen driving east on Highway 402 at a speed that was clocked to be well over the posted limit of 100 km per hour.

Radar indicated a speed in excess of 160 km per hour.

A Brampton driver faces a charge under the Stunt Driving Legislation and will appear in Sarnia court on a later date.
