Volunteer/intern positions at LambtonShield.com include Sports Editor
Feature, Sports — By JD Booth on December 16, 2011 at 3:31 pmOne of the key elements of the vision for LambtonShield.com is to provide an outlet for young writers who have an interest in a career in journalism.
There are several opportunities available–all at this point "volunteer" based–for someone to consider.
Among the opportunities available is someone who can take the reins of LambtonShield.com's sports coverage. While we currently cover Sarnia Sting and Sarnia Legionnaires stories–thanks to the talents of Dave Borody–as well as the LSSAA scores (provided by that organization), we'd like to do better.
A "sports editor" would benefit from status as a fully accredited journalist working for a bona fide media organization.
A key point: the person selected may not be a student at all. Perhaps a retiree or someone who has the passion and interest in taking the coverage of local sports to a new level.
If you are interested–or know someone who may or should be–give Editor J.D. Booth a call at (519) 466-2811.
