28-year-old accused of attempted murder after early morning stabbing

Sarnia Police say a 28-year-old Sarnia man has been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing incident on Tuesday morning.

Police say they were called to a disturbance in the 1900 block of London Line at about 4:10 a.m. at which time they found that the accused had stabbed a 76-year-old man. Both parties are known to each other.

Both were taken to hospital for treatment for their injuries but later released.

The accused, identified as Jessie Douglas Reid, has now been remanded into custody for the charges of Attempt Murder, Aggravated Assault, Assault with a Weapon and 3 counts of breaching his Probation. He will be held in custody and is to appear in court by video this Thursday, February 18, 2016.
