It's been nearly a week since we went "live" with LambtonShield.com and I first of all want to thank all who have checked us out–and judging from the Google Analytics data we monitor–have returned and returned again.
When the idea for LambtonShield.com began to percolate (as ideas are known to do), it was primarily to make a difference. Bringing an abundance of local news to the Sarnia-Lambton area would help us all–strengthening our fabric as a community while keeping us connected. And doing so in a way that advertisers would both appreciate and acknowledge with their support.
The response from those who hear about LambtonShield.com has been, without exception, overwhelmingly positive. From the fans of the Sarnia Sting, who can now read within minutes how their favourite team did against their latest OHL rivals, to those find themselves wondering from time to time "what's happening out there?" and who now take comfort in knowing the organizations with whom they have an interest have a place where their stories can be told without space limit (or no space at all) concerns.
So thank you.
While we'll continue to work hard to exceed expectations, we could use your help. Here are three things you can do:
1. Spread the word. We're on Facebook and many of you are too (did you know 47 percent of Canadians have an account?) If you search LambtonShield.com and "like" us, you'll know when there's a new post. And if you "like" an article, your Facebook friends will be so informed. You can also follow us on Twitter (@lambtonshield), again keeping up-to-date on what's new.
2. Get involved. If you have a particular area of interest, you may want to consider becoming a content contributor. If you have an idea, don't hesitate to drop me a line. I'll get back to you and we can begin the conversation.
3. Make us work for you. If you're in a business (or knows of one) that would benefit from connecting with the growing LambtonShield.com audience, please consider making an investment in not only your future, but that of your community. As a media outlet, we have very competitive advertising rates, especially now as we start small and grow. We promise to do whatever we can to justify your early support over the long haul. Check out the ADVERTISING link at the top of our home page for more information or send Deborah McIntosh an e-mail.
Thank you for checking us out. And thank you for staying with us.
