There were some tense moments at Charlotte Eleanor Englehart (CEE) Hospital in Petrolia on Wednesday night.
Lambton OPP were called by hospital staff at about 9 p.m. after reporting a man had become unruly and irrational, refusing to leave the hospital.
When police tried to arrest the suspect, he allegedly assaulted an officer.
Eventually, two officers and two paramedics were able to restrain the man, who was found to be in possession of a large vial of cloudy liquid, suspected to be a drug used in veterinary surgery.
A 32-year-old Oil Springs man has been charged with a variety of offenses, including trespassing and assault.
