The St. Clair Catholic District School Board has inked a new three-year deal with its occasional teaching staff, members of the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association Occasional Unit, who have ratified the deal.

Members of the union has been working without a contract since August 31, 2014 (the day the last contract expired). The new agreement runs through August 31, 2017.

“We are extremely pleased to have reached local agreement with our occasional teachers,” said Dan Parr, director of Education. “This new contract means we have now successfully concluded negotiations with all of our unions and associations.”

The local tentative agreement was reached on June 17, 2016 and was the result of bargaining under the new two-tier collective bargaining structure. That structure was created through the 2014 School Boards Collective Bargaining Act.
