County offering ‘introductory to Geneaology’ workshop series

Lambton County Archives ready to help with your own 'family investigation'

Is there a sheep rustler in your family? A stage coach robber? A spy?

Lambton County Archives can teach you to find out through its free Introduction to Genealogy workshop series.

Courses will be offered from 6 – 8 p.m. October 27, November 3, November 10, and November 17. The final session will be held on Saturday, November 21 from 9 a.m. -11 a.m. Participants are encouraged to bring a bag lunch and stay for the day.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Where Do I Begin?
  • Storage and Software
  • What does the Lambton County Archives Have to Offer?
  • Traveling the Internet Highway
  • Vital Statistics
  • Census Records
  • Church Records; and
  • Land Records

Participants would benefit from bringing their own laptop to conduct research.  Computers are also available for public use.  Those interested in participating are asked to register by calling (519) 845-5426 by Monday, October 19. Spaces are limited.
