Hampton Inn, nestled between two hotel neighbours in Point Edward, has had its official opening.

The 95-room facility, which is owned by Vrancor Group, had a “soft opening” in mid-February. It is said to be the first new build hotel to open in the area in more than 20 years.

The local Hampton, which operates as part of the broader Hilton marquee, is at 1492 Venetian Blvd., on a site once occupied by at least two different restaurants. The property sat vacant for some time before being acquired by Vrancor Group, which is based in Hamilton.
