By Glenn Peterson

I like good stories.

Stories full of plot and tension,

well developed characters,

twists and turns

hopefully a good laugh.

I like hearing stories.

Watching stories.

Sharing stories.

Being a part of a story.

What kind of stories do you like?

Stories told at coffee break about the stupid thing someone did last week?

Stories shared over lunch?

The stories your kids share at the end of the day?

The “time when” you realized you were a part of a really ____________ kind of story, story?

Most of us connect to stories because in one way or another, we find ourselves in them. Maybe we see or discover something about ourselves in them. Maybe we resonate or connect with a story in ways we don’t even understand.

When’s the last time you heard a good story?

A story that made you aware of truth, beauty, goodness, faith, courage, hopefulness… the real, good stuff, of life.

I like those kind of stories.

Glenn Peterson is lead pastor of Lighthouse Community Church, which meets Saturdays at 6:30 p.m. at the corner of Parker Street and Nelson Street, Sarnia. Visitors are always welcome.
