Man assaulted after delivering items sold to accused

Search warrant leads to arrest of individuals for drug related crimes as well as assault

Sarnia Police say a 20-year-old man who went to a Colborne Road apartment late Saturday night with the intention of selling some items to an individual he had connected with online was subsequently assaulted by individuals who were subsequently arrested and charged.

The victim was assaulted and later escaped from the residence and reported the crimes to Sarnia Police.

Subsequently, Sarnia Police, armed with a search warrant, were able to locate the property stolen from the victim as well as a weapon (a baton used to assault the victim) along with $3,500 (street value) in marijuana and marijuana resin.

The victim did not sustain any serious injuries, say Police.

Police have charged:

—A 17-year-old female with possession of marijuana.

—A 26-year-old male with possession of marijuana and possession of property obtained by crime (under $5,000) as well as breach of probation.

—A 22-year-old male with possession of marijuana, possession of property obtained by crime (under $5,000) and breach of recognizance and adult robbery with violence.

—A 21-year-old male with possession of marijuana, possession of property obtained by crime (under $5,000), six counts of breach of recognizance, and adult robbery with violence.

Police say the 22 and 21 year old males are still in custody awaiting bail hearings while the 17 year old female and 26 year old male have been released.
