Michigan driver faces careless driving charge

OPP say a Michigan driver, going westbound on Highway 402 near Oil Heritage Road, left the highway and ended up in a farmer's field.

The single vehicle incident, which occurred Thursday evening, resulted in 75-year-old Arthur Mardigian of Franklin, Mich., being taken to Petrolia hospital and later to London Health Sciences, for treatment of head injuries.

Police say Mardigian faces a charge of careless driving and possibly failure to wear a seatbelt, although the incident investigation is continuing.
