Volunteeers from the Alzheimer Society of Sarnia-Lambton will be at this weekend’s Sarnia Artwalk, promoting a program that is seeing positive results among those who are living with dementia.

“Mindful Music,” a program that includes giving clients an iPod Shuffle with a customized playlist of music (based on the verbal and non-verbal response of an individual), is receiving great response, according to people like Vanessa Barnes, program coordinator at the Alzheimer Society.

An article previously published in Lambton Shield explains the program in detail. It can be seen here.

The organization will be on hand at Sarnia Artwalk, where they will be receiving donations of “gently used” iPod Shuffle devices for the program. Cash donations to help defray the costs of the program will also be received at the “Mindful Memories” booth at Artwalk.
