New motorhome abandoned in snowstorm on Lakeshore Rd. later found to be looted; damage reported, TVs stolen

{ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED Dec. 20–UPDATED Dec. 21 to reflect new information from OPP}

Lambton OPP report that a new motorhome  being transported along Lakeshore Road between Rawlings Road and Ravenswood Road last Sunday was later found to be looted of a pair of built in TVs. The entire loss is now estimated to be more than $150,000, including $4,000 in damage from the looting.

Police say storage cabinets were also stolen after the motorhome left the road during the snowstorm. Extensive exterior damage was most likely the result of the motorhome going into the ditch. Damage to cabinetry inside was the result of an attempt to remove a built-in stove.

It wasn't until the motorhome was recovered from the ditch three days later that the damage was discovered, the thieves having gained entrance through a broken window. There are no suspects.
