Organizers of tomorrow’s “Noelle’s Gift of Fitness” are hoping for a strong relay-style fundraiser, the fourth year of the annual event.
The event is held in honour of Noelle Paquette, who was murdered in the early hours of New Year’s Day, 2013. Tens of thousands of dollars have been since raised through a non-profit set up by her parents following the tragedy.
This year as in the past, several fitness venues, GoodLife Fitness, Ironworks, Agoya Fitness, The Studio (in downtown Sarnia), and Sharky’s on London Line are participating in what has become a signature event for Noelle’s Gift.
Activities begin at 7 a.m. and run until noon, although there is also a sunrise yoga event planned for under the Blue Water Bridge, starting at 6:15 a.m.
There is also a fitness event for kids planned from noon until 2 p.m. at Canatara Park.
A social event is also planned at Norm’s Pub and Grill on London Road. That event, tickets for which are said to be almost sold out, begins at 8 p.m.
Last year, the Noelle’s Gift of Fitness raised about $80,000.
