The Village of Point Edward is amping up its social media presence in an effort to showcase all the “progressively independent” municipality has to offer, not only to residents and businesses, but those who choose to visit one of Ontario’s iconic destinations.

Mayor Bev Hand was on hand at a screening of a new promotional video, produced by Dragonfly Media, whose owners are both natives of the area and who returned to the area, launching the company in April 2015.

Also announced was the launch of Point Edward’s Facebook page. The municipality also has an active Twitter account.

But clearly the “star” of Thursday’s announcement, which was at the Point Edward Community Hall, was the promotional video. Those who remember the broadcast voice of Larry Gordon, the now-retired news director at Blackburn Radio, will “connect the dots”—Gordon is now a member of the Point Edward Council and lent his voice to the production.

Dragonfly Media specializes in video using “Unmanned Aerial Vehicles”—commonly referred to as drones.
