Police make two arrests in break and enter investigation

Search warrant related to Nelson Street apartment incident in December

Sarnia Police say they arrested two residents of Sarnia, a 26-year-old man and a 35 year-old woman, following the execution of a search warrant related to a break and enter that occurred in December 2015.

The search was done at a residence in the 100 block of Durand on Monday (January 25) just after 4:30 p.m. The break and enter was said to have taken place in an apartment in the 100 block of Nelson Street.

During Monday’s search, police say they also located a prohibited knife and pepper spray. They believe other items found in the home are from other break and enters and officers are continuing to follow up.

The male suspect is charged with two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of break in tools, two counts of break and enter and breaching his probation.

The woman has been charged with two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of break in tools and two counts of breaching her bail conditions.
