Sarnia Sting gets Drake Rymshaw from Ottawa

Trade comes in exchange for four future draft picks

Sarnia Sting GM, Nick Sinclair announced after Saturday’s win on home ice that the club has acquired 98-born centre, Drake Rymsha from the Ottawa 67’s in exchange for two second round picks (SAR ’18 & WSR ’20) a third round pick (PBO ‘2019) and a fourth round pick (SAR ’17).

Rymsha was originally selected in the 5th round of the 2014 OHL Priority Selection by the London Knights and then dealt to the 67’s in October of 2015. In 65 games with Ottawa, the hard-nosed forward has amassed 38 points. The Michigan native is off to a strong start with the 67’s this season, registering 15 goals and 29 points in 37 contests.

“Drake is a player that we have coveted for quite some time now and thought very highly of going back to his draft year with the Jr. Canadiens,” added Sinclair. “He’s a multi-dimensional player that brings a combination of skill and grit to the rink every night. He plays an honest game and his will to compete will make him a solid addition to our current group.”
