Sarnia’s winter parking restrictions lifted

Seasonal shift does not apply to RVs, commercial vehicles, trailers

Sarnia’s summertime overnight parking regulations are now in effect.

From May 1 to Oct. 31 automobiles and motorcycles can park on city streets overnight for a period no longer than 12 hours, a seasonal change to the winter ban.

However, this exemption does not include recreational vehicles such as mobile homes, trailers, or commercial motor vehicles.

“Winter parking restrictions are in place to ensure the city can clear snow through the winter months,” notes Alan Shaw, director of planning and building and bylaw enforcement for the City of Sarnia.
