Shred-It event was successful

Event raised nearly $1,800 in support of Special Olympics

Sarnia Police, along with community partners Walmart and Shred-It, are pleased with donations of $1,776.35 that helped support Special Olympics, a cause that law enforcement personnel have embraced.

This year’s May 14 event was held at the parking lot Walmart.

More than 700 people attended the event, which promotes the secure shredding of documents as a deterrent to fraud, including identity theft.

“We are already looking forward to next year’s Community Shred Event and hope to make it an even greater success,” said Constable Giovanni Sottosanti, media officer at Sarnia Police Service.
