Sarnia Sturgeon opened the 2016 season this past weekend in Kitchener playing the Twin City Predators.

In the peewee division the Sturgeon fought hard throughout the game but came up short losing 14-6.

Their next game is Saturday in Oakville. In the Bantam division the Sturgeon played hard and came away with a 19-0 win.

Aiden Wildfong, Dylan Hiltz and Avery Smiley scored for the Sturgeon and the Defense stepped up and shut down the Twin City Offense.

The next game is this Sunday, June 5 at 11 a.m. at Norm Perry Park against the defending Champion Burlington Stampeders.

Come on out and support your local football team. In the JV division after a couple of quick touchdowns the Sturgeon defense was able to establish themselves and slow the Predators offense. After a hard battle the Sturgeon lost 27-7 in a weather shortened game.

The JV play Burlington this week, also at Norm Perry. Game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start. Come on out and support the local teams.
