By J.D. Booth Publisher, LambtonShield.com With the death this week of Apple Co-founder Steve Jobs, I began to think (after a few moments of introspection of course) how I might stick to our "local only" focus and still somehow acknowledge this great technology leader's passing.
Since we went into the homes of 55,000 households (all of Sarnia and Lambton County) just a few weeks ago, several of our new visitors (we've more than tripled our traffic in that time) have asked me: "When are you going to start running death notices." We're starting an experiment today, with the objective being to try to make it as quick as possible (and, of course, as accurate as possible.
Publisher J.D. Booth will be speaking to the Sarnia Computer Users Group on Wednesday, Sept.
We admit it. One of the biggest challenges around the development of LambtonShield.com, Sarnia-Lambton's newest media outlet, has been creating awareness.
Three more break-ins were reported to Sarnia Police yesterday (July 18).
On July 17, after responding to reports of a suspicious vehicle on Altiman Road and subsequently stopping and searching the vehicle, Walpole Island Police are said to have seized 69 Percocet pills, 60 Tylenol 3 pills and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Lambton OPP are urging area residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious vehicles or persons in their neighbourhoods, this after several break and enter incidents that have occurred over the last week.
