The 12th annual Alcohol-Free Family New Years Celebration is fast approaching.
It will be held at the RBC Centre in Sarnia on December 31 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
The event will feature dancing, drumming, singing and skating along with a ginger ale toast, balloon drop and a cake.
"We have a bunch of interactive activities that everyone in the family will enjoy," said Kathy Lefebvre, event organizer and member of the Lambton County Drug Awareness Action Committee.
"The celebration helps promote awareness of substance misuse, encourages health lifestyle choices vital to families and youth and helps promote a safe, fun alternative to the tradional New Year's celebrations," she added.
Tickets to the event, which is sponsored by the Lambton Drug Awareness Action Committee, County of Lambton Community Health Services Department and the RBC Centre, are $3.95 for adults; $2 for seniors and students. Children under 10 years old are free, if they are accompanied by an adult.
Tickets are available at the RBC box office or by calling 519-541-1717.
The Lambton Drug Awareness Action Committee also has tickets available for families in need who might not otherwise be able to afford to attend.
