Trucker killed while at tire service establishment in Sarnia, Ministry of Labour investigating

Investigators with the Ontario Ministry of Labour are trying to determine how a dump truck driver employed by Sarnia-based Murray Mills Excavating & Trucking Ltd. was killed late Wednesday afternoon while waiting for assistance at a Sarnia tire repair facility.

"What we know is that the worker was waiting for assistance," Matt Blajer told LambtonShield.com. "Shortly after that an employee of Sarnia Tire Service [on Plank Road] found the worker pinned between the frame of the truck and the lifting rail."

The Ministry was notified approximately 5:15 p.m. of the incident but it isn't clear exactly when the incident occurred. Blajer did not have the worker's name but said those details are not typically released.
