United Way of Sarnia-Lambton inches closer to goal as corporate donations continue to roll in

The United Way of Sarnia-Lambton is less than 10 per cent from its fundraising goal of $1.85 million.

Executive Director Dave Brown says three large corporate donations this week have had a large impact on the campaign.

During its volunteer recognition luncheon on Thursday, Imperial Oil announced it will contribute $454,000, while earlier this week, Shell announced its total of just over $240,000 and LanXess and its employees have pledged $127,000.

"In addition, we had a few schools, the Canada Border Services, and other employee campaigns wrap up", said Brown.

He said a donation from Enbridge Pipelines is also expected soon.

The campaign ends on December 31.
