As the Publisher/Editor of LambtonShield.com, I offer you warm words of welcome.
Like any endeavour, there's a sense of excitement, anticipation, and perhaps even a little nervousness. This is all new to us as well. But we believe the fundamental premise is a sound one: that residents of our community–that being that Sarnia and the greater Lambton County have an appetite for learning more about what goes on in their community.
With the penetration of the Internet, including social media outlets such as Facebook (which will be used, among other tactics, as a means of creating and sustaining awareness and interest), the time is right.
We also pay homage to the founder of the original Lambton Sheld (see Contributing Editor Bob McCarthy's two-part story on Canada's second prime minister, who lived and worked in our area).
Today's LambtonShield.com is in great part due to the encouragement of two people in particular–Fraser Parry, who is generous with his time as a consultant with the Business Enterprise Centre of Sarnia-Lambton and Nathan Colquhoun, who continues to work his Internet magic through StoryBoardSolutions.com.
As we reach out to our community for stories, for contributions, and for support, we believe LambtonShield.com will become an invaluable source of new, information and support for the greater good.
And what more could we hope for? Please let us know what you think and how we might help.
