You can stop dreaming about a white Christmas; it’s already here

The calendar indicates winter does not arrive until next week, but one would never know by looking outside. Snow and blowing snow has buffeted our coverage area since Sunday morning and a snowsquall warning remains in effect. A gusty northwest wind up to 80 km./hr. will blow the snow around making driving virtually impossible.
All schools in the area have been closed today and countless other events have been cancelled. You are advised to call ahead to see if your particular event is on today or not.
There are also isolated power outages in the region. Both Bluewater Power and Ontario Hydro are tending to these problems as quickly as they are able.
Also, as of 9 a.m. Monday morning, city and county snowploughs have been pulled off all area roads due to a lack of visibility.
Sarnia Mayor Mike Bradley says a decision on tonight's council meeting in Sarnia will be made by 10 a.m.
